It was a sunny day with a crisp breeze and I was feeling good and mellow. I decided to drive the speed limit (in the right line) and had people tailgating me and one even flipped me off! This is how people greet others on the road in NJ. Or is it? The majority of people that get angry I notice are on cell phones or trying to finish off a hot coffee of some sort.
According to the latest survey of parents and teens by Liberty Mutual and SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) Even with their parents on board, nearly half of teens say they eat while driving and more than a third report talking on a cell phone while behind the wheel. The Majority of teen drivers say they speed even when a parent is in the car (imagine when Mom or Dad isn’t!).
Can you Pat your head, rub your belly and hop on one foot while saying your ABC’s backwards? Seriously try it… its kind of fun.
You can’t expect to do all of this stuff while driving and be completely alert. I can’t point the finger because I do it all as well but I’m going to make the effort not to. How about you? |

Ok... I am so guilty of speeding. In fact I just drove across country from Arizona to Nashville, but while in Arkansas I got pulled over for the first time ever... I was going 15 over. Thankfully, PRAISE THE LORD, I did not receive a ticket and I didn't even try to talk my way out of the ticket... In fact I didn't even cry as most girls do to manipulate the situation. Now that I have arrived here in Nashville, my new home until God tells me otherwise, I realize that most people here have no clue how to drive. I have defiantly made a decision to not try to multi-task while driving. Now if I could only work on the speeding... |
