Can I Stand Before You, Naked
By jenmoreno | Published 12 Mar 2008 | spiritual

Naked: bare, stripped, or destitute

“The bare essentials”… “Back to basics”…what does that mean?

So many times, as either devout or new Christians, we become involved with the church and take on a ministry. We meet new people, learn new teachings, and possibly even take on new habits. It’s all very exciting.
Change is good, well for the right reasons anyway. Why do we do it all though?
Some may say, “To get involved” while others may state “To get closer or build a stronger relationship with God”.

Why is it then that so many times when we take on these new things our relationship with Him suffers or weakens?

Our eyes are on the prize the entire time whatever it may be, yet our Creator stands on the sidelines waiting for us to take a break and chill with Him. We do so many things for His glory and you've gotta ask yourself "When was the last time we did nothing else but be with Him?". Just sitting around in His presence without anything on our agenda.

God is sitting on the sidelines watching us run around spreading His word and trying to constantly bring people to Him,  yet none of it's ever enough for us.
We never stop running around because we never know when our time will come. When it does come we want to make sure that we have done everything we could have possibly done. The entire time God must be thinking to Himself, “I keep hearing my name spoken so they must be coming to hang out with me soon” so He waits, and waits, and waits.
Being Christian isn’t about how many people you have brought to Christ or how many hymns you know. It’s about your relationship with God. Your personal relationship.  Everything should be done because of your relationship with Him, not in lieu of.

A person that runs a race without any goal or destination in mind goes nowhere. What is your goal? Next time you start to teach someone about the word of God; know why you are telling them. Don’t just do it to do it (no offense Nike).
Strip yourselves of all materialistic, physical, intellectual, selfish, as a matter of fact strip yourselves of everything and come before your Creator just as he created you. Naked and without a care or worry in the world.

Come before Him simply to be in His presence and to stand in awe of everything He was, is, and will continue to always be.
