What
Upcast Means
Yes
it sounds cool and it makes a sleek magazine name but
what does upcast really mean?
Well it comes from the scripture Psalm
55:22
"Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain
you; he will never let the righteous fall."
Lets break it down.
Up Cast - To cast upward.
So what are we casting upward and why?
Well Psalm 55:22 specificaly tells us to cast our cares
(burdens, problems, worries) upon the Lord.
Lets skip ahead a bit to Matthew 6:19-20
"Don't store treasures
for yourselves here on earth where moths and rust will
destroy them and thieves can break in and steal them.
But store your treasures in heaven where they cannot be
destroyed by moths or rust and where thieves cannot break
in and steal them."
So not just to cast your cares but your treasures as well.
Matthew 6:22
"Your heart will be where your treasure is."
If we succesfully give God what we love as well then we
will be right where God desires us to be.
Upcast... to give your everything to God, the good and
the bad. |
